VOLUNTEER PROGRAMS AT HOPE ASSOCIATION
Hope Association volunteers for the Seniors Plus Meals on Wheels program four days a week. They deliver meals to the elderly and shut-ins on the Rumford, Mexico, Dixfield and Peru area routes. Hope Association also volunteers once a week at Rumford Community Home’s Coffee Social where they assist with passing out coffee and donuts to residents. Hope Association also volunteers at the Information Booth in Rumford, Maine once a week; they assist tourists and the general public by passing out maps and brochures.
Hope Association also keeps the Information Center tidy both inside and out! Hope Association assists the Rumford Career Center on an as needed basis by shredding paper. Hope Association assists the Eagle’s Clubquarterly with assembling and stapling their newsletters together. Hope Association has Adopted-A-Spot for several years by choosing an area such as the Scoops Ice Cream Shop and does raking and general clean-up of the area. They finish their project by planning flowers in a designated area. Hope Association also volunteers once a week at the Mexico Free Store; clients assist with sorting out donated items and they also sort and hang clothing and place them on racks for better visibility.
Hope Association has volunteered in other places during past years including the Mexico Historical Society where they dusted and swept the area, keeping it presentable to the public.
Hope Association continues to be interested in adding more volunteer opportunities to its Community Support program.
